Caravan chassis service includes:
• Lights.
• Chassis.
• Condition of Hitch including damper, breakaway cable, hand brake, etc.
• Wheel rims and tyres.
• Hubs, Stub axle & wheel bearings.
• Brake shoes, expanders & adjusters.
• Bearings are re-packed with grease where applicable.
• All brakes are adjusted as required.
Habitation Check includes:
Gas checks.
Electrical 12V and 230V systems.
Damp checks.
Water system checks.
Fire and safety checks.
What Is inspected Within The Habitation Check?
1. Water & Plumbing Systems
All water pipes and plumbing are checked for leaks. One of our fully trained caravan service technicians will inspect all water taps and wastewater systems. As well as the toilet and seals. If one is installed, they will also check the wet heating system.
2. Gas Systems
Our STGW LPG gas trained technicians will inspect gas systems to identify any leaks, they will also inspect ventilation, appliances that run on gas and any built in safety features. This also includes checking gas fuelled water heaters.
3. Electrical Systems
All electrical systems and components are checked during our rigorous habitation checks, these checks include all internal and external lighting and their sockets. Our fully trained technicians will also check all electrical appliances, such as refrigerators.
4. Fire And CO Detectors
The habitation checks also include testing Fire and CO detectors to make sure they are in good working order. If you have fire extinguishers Onboard the caravan these will also be examined.
5. Damp Check
Finally, we carry out a damp check. This is intended to reveal any dampness inside the caravan before it can cause too much damage. If excess dampness is found a technician will help you to address the cause as quickly as possible.
**We can also complete habitation checks on Motorhomes.**
What Is Inspected During A Caravan Chassis Service?
1. Brakes & Braking System
Within a Caravan chassis service the braking system is fully inspected and adjusted. Including brake shoes, brake drums, adjusters, expanders, brake rod, coupling, bowden cables and all other brake linkages.
2. Wheels & Tyres
We inspect all wheels and tyres, and check for the tyre age, tyre condition including cracks and tread depth. we will also inspect the rims for corrosion, damage and cracks.
3. Lighting & Electrics
A complete check of the Caravans running lights and electrics is completed, to make sure your Caravan stays visible. (This excludes internal electrics. electrical systems)
4. Axle & Chassis
A fully trained technician will also inspect the Caravans axles and chassis to make sure they remain in good working condition, within these checks we will make sure bearings are re-grased and all other axle components are in a roadworthy condition. We will also inspect the chassis for any damage or rust.
What Is A Complete Caravan Service?
Our Complete Caravan service includes everything within the Habitation check and Chassis service. This is the most comprehensive service we offer for Caravans. We make a full report of everything checked on your Caravan.
We recommend having a full service for peace of mind and to keep your caravan in the best condition.
The report is available upon completion of the service if requested.
For Any caravan being left with our Workshop, we will require proof of insurance at the time of drop off.
We request all personal belongings are removed from the Caravan before being dropped off.
Caravans left in our yard after a service has been completed may be subject to a storage charge.

Caravan servicing is typically completed within the day. Unless major work is required.
We only provide habitation check on motorhomes and campervans, we do not offer brake or chassis services on motorhomes or camper vans.
Caravans should be serviced annually or every 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. Lack of use can cause the same amount of damage to running gear as frequent use.
Gas appliances and flexible gas pipes are checked on every habitation check.
Yes, on a habitation check and a full service we check the interior of your caravan or motorhome with a damp meter and for any visible signs of damp.

Yes, all our caravan and motorhome service technicians are STGW LPG gas trained, and hold current and up-to-date certificates.
